This system will be 135kw installed on the town’s existing landfill cap.
There is growing concern about large solar installations being placed in public view and/or on critical farm land. Capped landfills are perfect locations for solar arrays, as the land can not be used for anything else. This array can only be seen when Eliot citizens take their garbage to the transfer station. It is sized to cover all the electric usage for town buildings, excluding the schools. System completion date is 12/24/17.
This is a PPA financed system to be owned by Barrington Power.
